Technical Tips Eliminator® Belt Cleaning Systems
Tip: Cleaning efficiency is greatly improved with a belt cleaning system
Problem: "My belt cleaner just isn't doing the job I expected it to do." This is a common concern voiced by many customers who use a single belt cleaner on each of their conveyors. They are just not happy with the performance. The reason is simple: frequently, the installation of one belt cleaner is not sufficient to remove the carryback in that application and that's especially true if the cleaner chosen is a cleaner on the head pulley. For example, a correctly installed and maintained H-TypeTM F-Tip Belt Cleaner will remove approximately 75% to 80% of the carryback that clings to the belt. That's what a typical precleaner is designed to do--to knock off the "big stuff" or the majority of the carryback materials. FACT: One belt cleaner on a conveyor generally will not be enough to remove all the carryback.
Solution: The introduction of a secondary belt cleaner will raise the cleaning efficiency level to 95% or more. A secondary cleaner on its own will generally clean better than a precleaner, as much as 85% to 90%. But a system of two cleaners can team up to do a superior cleaning job. The precleaner removes the easy fines and the secondary concentrates on the sticky and/or water materials. While no belt can be cleaned 100% due to cover condition, gouges or other imperfections, a good cleaning system that is spec'd for the application and well-maintained can deliver maximum cleaning results. You can see the difference! |
