Technical Tips Eliminator® H-Type® Belt Cleaners
Tip: Correctly locating the cleaner on the conveyor head pulley
Problem: H F-Tip and H V-Tip cleaners are located on the conveyor using X and Y coordinates. The X dimension is measured horizontally and the Y dimension vertically. But when the conveyor is inclined or declined, what plane does the installer use?
Solution: Determining the correct location of the cleaner always begins at the center of the head pulley shaft. From this point the X coordinate must always be on a horizontal plane parallel with the earth. This is true regardless of the angle of the conveyor structure.
Correctly locating the cleaner pole will prevent an unnecessary carryback burden on the cleaner tips. The result will be longer tip wear life. Also, this positions the pole further under the pulley, reducing the risk of damage from large lumps or materials deflecting back from the chute wall.
Tool Tip: A torpedo level or a yardstick with a bubble level works great for getting the X dimension on the right horizontal plane. |
