Eliminator® Belle Banne® U-Type® Belt Cleaners

Tip: How to position a U-Type cleaner on belts with space constraints.

Problem: You have just done a beltline inspection for a customer. Wet, sloppy carryback is really causing a mess. He needs a cleaner that does a superior cleaning job, especially on water. He needs the U-Type Cleaner. But a tight chute configuration means there's not enough horizontal clearance to install the U cleaner. Now what? Do you have to spec an alternate cleaner for this job? Whether it's a tight chute configuration or a closely mounted snub pulley or idler roller, clearance issues can be a problem. And many times, it's just the matter of an inch or two being the deciding factor in whether or not the cleaner will go in.

Solution: Introducing the new U-Type LS Belt Cleaner, the latest addition to Flexco's dependable Eliminator Belt Cleaning Systems. The "LS" means "Limited Space", and the U cleaner is designed to reduce the horizontal clearance needed for correct installation. The ULS Cleaner still has the unmatched, superior cleaning efficiency of the standard U-Type. Like the standard U cleaner, it has the patented U-shape blade mounted on an offset pole that rotates up into the belt and conforms to its material-carrying center. Available in sizes for 24" (600mm) to 60" (1500mm) wide belts, the ULS needs 1" (25mm) to 2-1/4" (56mm) LESS horizontal clearance for proper installation. Although this may seem like a small difference, we have found it to be a big benefit in many applications. The ULS is available with either the tungsten carbide V-Blade or the solid urethane F-Blade.

Tool Tip: The U-Type V-Blade can be used on mechanically spliced belts that have the splice recessed (skived) into the belt cover. Use the Flexco FSK Skiver to recess mechanical splices. The rubber ends of the blade make first contact with the skived splice and ramp the tungsten carbide tips smoothly over the splice. Recessing the mechanical splice is required when using the V-Blade, and if for any reason the belt cannot be skived, or if it has mechanical rip repairs, the F-Blade should be used.
