Technical Tips Eliminator® Secondary Cleaners
Tip: Improve your cleaning system with an easy-to-use Stabilizing Roller.
Problem: Many times when installing a secondary cleaner, the belt is under-tensioned or has developed a slight cupped shape from the trough. These conditions require the addition of a stabilizing (hold-down) roller to flatten the belt and allow the secondary cleaner to operate at peak performance. Normally the solution to this problem has been to order a Stabilizing Roller Bracket Kit (see BCP Tech Tip: Cleaners increase belt cleaning efficiency by making the belt flat), which allows the customer to add a return roller from the work site to the kit. But some customers have little or no extra roller inventory on-site, or they want to buy a complete unit and eliminate the need to order both a roller and the brackets separately.
Solution: Now a complete solution to this problem is available. Due to the many requests from the field, the addition of a roller to the Stabilizing Roller Bracket Kit has been completed. Introducing the new SRR, Stabilizing Return Roller. It comes complete with the universal stabilizing roller brackets, and is available for belts 24-60" (600-1500mm), with a 5" (125mm) Exalon CEMA D roller; and for heavy-duty belts 54-72" (1350-1800mm) with a 6" Exalon CEMA E roller. The replacement Exalon rollers are in stock and ready to ship as a standard item, and the Stabilizing Roller Bracket Kit will also remain available for use with on-site supplied rollers. The new Stabilizing Return Roller is just another example of how Flexco is working hard to be your complete BCP solutions provider.
Tool Tip: Including a stabilizing roller in your cleaning system is always a good idea. A stabilizing roller locks the conveyor belt in place between two points, whether it's between the stabilizing roller and the head pulley or the stabilizing roller and a return roller. The result is a flat tensioned belt at the point where your secondary cleaner makes contact, which provides consistent cleanability and reduced belt cleaner maintenance. |
