Problem 

A major belt shop in Texas was averaging 4 ½ hours to install a 54” (1,372 mm) RS125 splice using the RSC187 installation tool. Staples were being manually hammered into the splice, the oldfashioned way, and the time spent was becoming an issue. With hundreds of splices being installed a year, something quicker and easier was being sought out as a solution.

Solution: 

An Alligator Staple Gold Class and 24” (610 mm) installation bases were recommended as a solution to help save time and effort in the belt shop’s splice installation. The air-operated power driver allows belt fabricators to install Alligator^® Ready Set^™ Staple two plates at a time, with quick and effortless trigger pulls. This simple installation process allows for splices to be installed quickly and consistently, regardless of operator skill and experience.

Result: 

The Alligator Staple Gold Class installation tool produced a quick return on investment because of the time savings. Not only did this solution save over 2.5 hours per splice, a 60% time reduction, but the end-user also noticed that the splice consistency was much better than before and operator fatigue was significantly reduced since it did not require hours of repetitive hammer blows. These benefits are now being realized by the customer on all belts laced with Alligator Staple.
