Flexco Adds Novitool® Pun M™ NDX Mobile Finger Punch for Belts that Drive Live Rollers

Flexco recently announced the addition of the Novitool® Pun M™ NDX Mobile Finger Punch to its line of endless splicing solutions. The Pun M™ NDX joins the Novitool® Aero® 325 Splice Press as a tool designed specifically for use with belt-driven, live roller conveyors, making belt splicing quick and easy in these applications.

Intuitive and easy-to-use

The Pun M NDX Mobile Finger Punch is easy to set up and use, with a single handle that punches the belt and automatically re-indexes for precise fingers in a fraction of the time of other tools.

“Currently, the tools used to punch these belts require several steps to re-index the belt during punching, which means more opportunity to make a mistake,” Flexco Marketing Specialist Michelle Graves said. “The belt support table on the NDX moves in a linear direction and angular motion simultaneously, automatically re-indexing the belt as it punches, saving a considerable amount of time and ensuring the accuracy of the punched fingers.”

The tool is also equipped with guarding on all mechanisms, as well as the blade, making it a safer tool for operators. A locking pin holds the crank handle in place for easy maintenance and for convenient transport from one location to the next.

Single blade, precise cuts

The durable, single blade on the NDX cuts so smoothly that only minimal trimming of fraying aramid cords is needed. The thickness of the blade causes less blade deflection, which increases blade performance and life and discourages curling at the edge of the blade, producing precise fingers for splicing. When the time comes to replace a blade, changing it is easy.

“You don’t have to disassemble the whole unit to change out the blade,” Graves says. “You simply remove a few screws, pop the used blade out, insert a new blade, and fasten it back into place, with little to no adjustments.”

The blade guard, designed to keep operators safer during use, also assists in releasing the belt from the blade during punching, keeping hands and maintenance tools away from the blade area.

Quick and easy belt preparation and splicing

When used together, the Pun M NDX and Aero 325 Splice Press produce quality, consistent splices on belt-driven, live roller conveyors in a fraction of the time of current splicing methods.
